Indian Summer { Central Ohio Photographer }

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Day 2
It is one of those beautiful sunny Indian Summer days here in Central Ohio. There are still some colorful leaves clinging to the trees. The birds and squirrels are busy at the feeders and gathering goodies in anticipation of the coming winter. My wind chimes are gently singing in the light breeze. It is a day that just fills the soul with happiness. I am thankful for these days and being in the moment, thankful for the seasons & unique beauty of each one, & glad I can take a moment to appreciate it all & bask in the beauty. It is such a fleeting season, & that makes me take note & delight in each moment!

Gratitude Project Day 2

30 Days of Gratitude 2010/ Open Doors

Thursday, November 4, 2010

I am developing the patience to wait for a door to open instead of trying to force my way through! And I am thankful for doors that open where I did not expect them to... and for being open to where life might lead me.

31 Strangers in 31 Days {Columbus Ohio Fine Art Photography}

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Like many of you, I go through phases where I am deeply ensconced in my comfort zone! But staying there too long can get me aching for something new & looking for a jump start to my creativity. Last year I did a photography project of shooting everyday things every morning (Year of Mornings). Some of my favorite shots from 2009 were taken as part of the Morning Project. So... this year I was inspired by Caroline & her 31 Strangers Project! So, I will photograph 31 strangers in 31 days!

Meet Strangers 1 & 2: Barb & Patsy

Barb & Patsy agreed to be photographed... as long as I shot them from behind - no faces! I saw them talking on a bench at Inniswood Metropark - one of my favorite haunts both for portraits & flower shots. Patsy had worked in a corporate wellness program before funding was cut. She is now a self employed wellness coach! Barb is in the health industry and had some great suggestions for future projects! They were both quite interesting to talk with!

Moms, Dads, Sisters, Aunties {Central Ohio Family Photographer}

In our fast paced, hurry up world, I so enjoy slowing down for a couple hours to do a family portrait session. Appointments and to do lists are put aside, and laughter & connections take front seat! The Sanchez family and I had an enjoyable evening portrait session this past Sunday at the wonderful Inniswood Metropark!

child·hood
noun
1.the state or period of being a child.

The dictionary doesn't quite convey the word or period of being a child! Childhood to me means magical, in the moment, trusting, laughing, being free, hopeful, without guile, innocent, fleeting.

I love photographing children being themselves, playing, laughing and being in the moment... because those moments are so precious and once in a lifetime! I had a wonderful day of play, and being in the moment with H & C at Inniswood Metropark. I love what I do - & I love being able to keep these moments forever... to be visited again & again!

There are lives I can imagine without children but none of them have the same laughter & noise. ~ Story People

We had the most beautiful day for a late fall portrait session at Inniswood Metropark. The sun was shining. There were still some colorful leaves clinging to the trees. It was Indian Summer... a great day!

Girls and Tutus... / Columbus Ohio Childrens Photographer

Saturday, June 20, 2009

This past week I spent an evening at Inniswood, our most beautiful metropark, doing a photo session with two delightful little girls! They discovered quite a few frogs, picked bouquets of clovers, romped in Grandma's Garden and rolled down hills. The park is such a magical place for children - & the child in us all! Here is a little preview of that fun filled day.

Saturday afternoon was absolutely beautiful - the perfect Spring day for a photo session with this adorable little baby boy. There were so many beautiful flowers and settings to take advantage of! And he seemed to enjoy being out in the sunshine and warm breeze. This session took place at my favorite setting, our wonderful Inniswood Metropark in Westerville.
