My roots are in black and white. I started with film and that is all I shot. Color is pretty, but color can seduce you away from the story and emotion. Black and white compel you to see the emotion, the story, the nuances and textures... whether dramatic or soft.

I agree with you about color. I think it can be a distraction most times especially when it is very saturated.
I like working in b&w especially warm toned, but have been making use of color when i feel it is appropriate and when it offers something more to the image.
Very nice collection of photographers, I will be looking through all of their work.
